Rob Smith Events
A decorated Iraq War Veteran, Rob Smith served for five years in the United States Army, including two tours in the Middle East. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. Previously a Democratic activist in the movement to repeal the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law which barred open service by gay and lesbian soldiers, he ‘came out’ as a conservative via a profile in the Daily Mail in the summer of 2018 in response to the ‘outrage culture’ of the left and to let the world know that Blacks don’t have to be Democrats.
Rob currently serves as a Senior Contributor to the conservative student advocacy group Turning Point USA, regularly speaking at events across the country alongside people like Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, Dave Rubin, Congressman Dan Crenshaw, and President Donald Trump. He’s also a Contributor to the digital media network The First alongside network talent like Buck Sexton, Dana Loesch, and Bill O’ Reilly.
He currently hosts and executive produces the weekly podcast Rob Smith Is Problematic via his partnership with Newt Gingrich’s Gingrich360 Productions and iHeart Media. He is also the author of Always A Soldier: Service, Sacrifice, and ‘Coming Out’ As America’s Favorite Black, Gay Republican, which was released via Post Hill Press in July of 2020. That book received coverage from Fox & Friends, Breitbart, No Spin News with Bill O’Reilly, and The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton among many other cable television and digital media outlets.
A regular political commentator on cable news and digital outlets, he has been seen on Fox News, One America News Network, Newsmax, NBC News, CNN, and The Blaze among many others. Rob is also a regular presence on the speaking and lecture circuit, having spoken about politics and current events at Yale University, Google, Deutsche Bank, Vanderbilt University, and dozens of other colleges, universities, companies, and political events across America.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University and a Master’s Degree from Columbia University.
